The course objective is to have students apply different facets of their English learning in an integrated way, with heavier focus and assessment mainly based on writing.

This class will help you develop your writing, reading comprehension, as well as listening, speaking and critical thinking skills; it will also help to further develop your vocabulary and note taking skills.

Students will study and produce writing in an all-English environment. Classes are conducted once a week with weekly assignments that students will write, review, and edit, mostly outside of class.

Activities in class will be content driven and the methods in which the content is studied will be wide ranging from student led activities, such as group discussions and presentation preparation skills, to individual research and study activities.

Assessment in the class will consist of both formal and summative assessment; formal and informal. Students' of reading and writing will be assessed each term written through essays, presentations and participation in group discussions and activities.

The important thing to remember about this course is that you will be primarily graded on your written ability rather than your spoken ability. There is no exam in this class, and assessment will be made through classroom activities, written assignments, oral presentations, and in-class attitude.

Make sure you come to class and participate in in-class discussions and activities. Assignments are the main way of assessment afraid in this class, so remember to complete all assignments on-time and to the best of your ability. If you have any questions, it's important for you to approach the teacher and ask questions, without being of making mistakes in English. This is the class for you to practice your output skills.
